WHere is a simplified interpretation of a cocktail found on a new drinks list. This is a large-volume premix that is loaded full of tastes of the holiday season, which makes it excellent for hosting a holiday party. Reserve the remaining citrus syrup for morning drinks, sweets, or to mix additional servings of this cocktail.

Yields 10 servings
To make the Citrus Syrup (makes 750ml)
300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g caster sugar
Ingredients for the Cocktail (makes 850ml, enough for 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine cordial (as made above)
Whole cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Method
Making the Cordial: Combine the listed ingredients inside a pot, bring to a simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves. After that, take off the stove and leave to cool down entirely. Pour into a sterilised bottle, seal and refrigerate it chilled, it will last for about one month.
Preparing the Premix: Combine every spirits and syrup into one big jug, allow it to infuse for one hour, then filter it best through cheesecloth, making it completely strained.
To serve: Pour 85ml from the batch mix into your mixing glass containing ice, and agitate gently for a minute to chill. Pour to a chilled martini glass or similar, top with some cranberries and complete it using a light spray of the essential oil above the glass.
