In a unexpected crossover event that challenges traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Disclosed

According to the authorized release, "An unusual meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of banned ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The storyline features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret sect.

The mission focuses on "strange experiments and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Changes

The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana together with several items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Latest Free Story Content

This update also adds the game's newest free story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
